00:00:47: So we're going to start off the show with some quick fire questions before we get into the nitty gritty of what's going on at the Aplus A this year.

00:01:56: I would say helmet too, but that's not true.

00:01:57: I never wear a helmet and I should.

00:01:59: I know I should.

00:01:59: I'm learning that here not only.

00:02:01: It was a lie.

00:02:02: Okay.

00:02:04: We won't even talk about that anymore.

00:02:05: Okay, you have been at the helm of A plus A for some time now and you steered the A plus A into a future facing direction.

00:02:14: What has been your personal vision for A plus A and how do you think it has evolved under your leadership?

00:02:20: Well, my personal vision for a plus a was to, you know, strengthen the community we have.

00:02:26: a plus a is sometimes like a big family event, you know, because everybody from the industry comes together and we've seen a lot of developing new interesting topics and we tried.

00:02:38: to integrate them as much as possible in A plus A. If it's work wear or exoskeletons, there are a lot of different topics.

00:02:45: And I think it's very important to look into the future.

00:02:49: And a trade show is all about showing innovation.

00:02:51: Absolutely.

00:02:52: And it was mostly focused on safety and security at the workplace.

00:02:56: And as you just said, it's developed and there's a lot about innovation and sustainability this time also before, but this time especially.

00:03:05: Was this like a conscious shift in the strategy or did it automatically evolve?

00:03:10: We talk a lot to our exhibitors and our visitors and especially sustainability is something that is a driver for the industry at the moment.

00:03:18: There's a lot of demand for sustainable and protective closing.

00:03:23: kind of came natural, but it is also what our exhibitors offer in the new product ranges.

00:03:28: So this is something we adapted naturally.

00:03:30: So let's talk about the trends of developments in this sector, in the health sector, in the occupational safety sector.

00:03:37: What developments have surprised you the most in the last years?

00:03:43: What really surprised me was the topic of exoskeletons.

00:03:48: At my first A plus A it was still kind of a futuristic visionary tool.

00:03:55: And we just learned that it is definitely something that is already used in a lot of industries, if it's logistics or automotive industry.

00:04:02: So it kind of became from a future vision to a realistic tool that is used at the moment.

00:04:07: And I thought that was very, very interesting.

00:04:11: The A plus A connects stakeholders from really all around the world.

00:04:14: It is an international trade fair.

00:04:16: What would you say makes this trade fair such a special place?

00:04:19: and what is the secret for its ongoing relevance and success?

00:04:24: because it really is getting more and more relevant and more and more successful every single time.

00:04:29: I think what makes A plus A really special is its internationality.

00:04:34: We are not only the largest occupational safety and health show, but the one where you would meet.

00:04:38: everybody from the community.

00:04:40: And I think a lot of occupational safety and health shows all over the world are more regionally focused.

00:04:46: A plus A is international.

00:04:47: So if you want to meet everybody from the industry, that's the place you have to be.

00:04:51: And I think what makes it also very special is that we think that content is very important.

00:04:56: So knowledge transfer, conferences, interactive parts, I think this is what makes A plus A very special.

00:05:03: A lot of new innovations are presented here.

00:05:05: Actually, a lot of people and companies use this platform as a platform to launch new strategies or new innovations.

00:05:13: How do you see A plus A role in driving this innovation?

00:05:16: I mean, not just as a platform, it's more than that, I would say.

00:05:20: Oh, definitely.

00:05:21: We talk to a lot of exhibitors and a lot of them are adapting the R&D cycles.

00:05:29: to the times that A plus A is running.

00:05:32: So they make sure that the new product is ready to present itself here at A plus A. And this is obviously something that makes us very, very proud because it shows the significant role that A plus A. has in the industry.

00:05:45: Is that how you ensure that the topics and formats stay relevant because new products are being are being shown?

00:05:51: Or are there other things that you do to make sure that it's also it stays relevant as a trade fair?

00:05:55: Well,

00:05:56: I think innovations are always the key point because the visitors want to see something new.

00:06:01: They want to see what are the developments for future products.

00:06:05: But I think it is a mix of innovations, the community building we do.

00:06:10: It is really a great platform.

00:06:13: for the whole industry in terms of conference knowledge transfer.

00:06:16: And we also try to include some interesting parts, some entertainment parts.

00:06:20: So for everybody, it should be a successful, but also a fun show.

00:06:24: And I love the mixture of old companies or traditional companies with new companies, startup companies that are showing things, and they kind of are melding together.

00:06:33: And I feel like anyway, that they're building off each other.

00:06:37: Would you agree?

00:06:38: Oh, absolutely.

00:06:40: The startup companies are very, very interesting and important part for A plus A, because these are the future exhibitors of A plus A. And the young and wild companies from the industry with new ideas, with fresh ideas.

00:06:54: And we see that a lot of the older companies that have been long exhibiting here, they go and look and see and maybe get a... an idea for future partnership.

00:07:06: Speaking about future, I'm actually very sad today because you are going to be here for the last time as the project director of A plus A. You are headed off to Singapore.

00:07:15: Congratulations on this role.

00:07:16: Just for us, it's a little bit sad that you're leaving and you are leaving the whole thing over to Daniel Faische.

00:07:22: First of all, how do you feel?

00:07:23: And secondly, what advice have you given him?

00:07:27: To be honest, I'm also sad because it has been a wonderful time here with Aplus A. I love the community.

00:07:34: So many interesting people, such a good exchange with everybody.

00:07:38: I'm really, really going to miss it.

00:07:40: The good part is that even if I go to Singapore, I'm going to be still involved in some of the occupational safety and health shows.

00:07:46: So I'm not going to go completely.

00:07:49: I'm going to stay a little.

00:07:51: And for Daniel, I think we found just a wonderful successor for me.

00:07:56: He's already adapted to the industry.

00:07:59: My advice is always keep the ears open.

00:08:03: Listen to the exhibitors.

00:08:04: Listen to the visitors.

00:08:05: Get in contact with them.

00:08:06: Communication is key.

00:08:08: And stay curious and brave.

00:08:09: And just have new crazy ideas.

00:08:12: And I think that's what makes A plus A very interesting.

00:08:15: And he's going to lead us into a very... my future, I guess.

00:08:18: And you brought us into this future, so congratulations on doing that.

00:11:09: he said a mixture of both is fine if you're at the A plus A. So we'll stick with that.

00:11:13: You can wear your party hat and make sure that it's safe and then everything is good.

00:11:17: And speaking about safety that is why you are here today because you're presenting some wonderful things at the trade fair at your stand.

00:11:24: They're very innovative.

00:11:25: And before we get into it, maybe you can tell us how your products contribute to well-being.

00:11:31: What would you say in a couple of sentences to explain to our audience?

00:11:35: Yeah, we focused on well-being of our wearers.

00:11:40: And yeah, we do that in form of innovation, is what you said.

00:11:46: We have a patent.

00:11:51: In general, we are contributing or we are innovating various things for this purpose to develop the well-being.

00:12:02: So you brought your product, one of your products, one of your highlight products that you're showing at the stand.

00:12:08: And this product really fundamentally is different compared to other safety shoes on the market.

00:12:14: What exactly did you develop and what did you bring?

00:12:17: Let me see, please.

00:12:20: So this shoe is called the Pan and it's a part of our barefoot series.

00:12:26: It's a world innovation and we are the first, we are the first developing real barefoot safety shoes, which is a crazy development and what we put in is all our innovation to create this product.

00:12:45: Why did we do this product?

00:12:46: Because we wanted to be as natural as possible and so You can see it here.

00:12:55: The shoe is quite flexible and Yeah, it allows great comfort and the aim is to keep the wearer as healthy as possible.

00:13:06: Maybe you can explain to us and people might not necessarily know why is it so healthy to be barefoot and why did you decide to integrate that into a shoe?

00:13:17: So the natural feed is that we have a lot of space and this is the reason why we have this wide toe cap and this allows space for the toes and it allows that they're not squeezed.

00:13:35: and of course the natural rolling movement that we allow not just in the barefoot shoe but also in our other products because the common safety shoes.

00:13:46: regarding the form of the toe cap it hinders that you're bending the feet in a natural way and this is the reason why we made a go and relax system.

00:14:00: It's in all our safety shoes and especially in the barefoot shoes.

00:14:05: Tell me, how do people react to these shoes?

00:14:07: Do you have to explain to them how great it is to be able to have relaxation on the feet and then you have this go and relax system?

00:14:16: Or do people know and realize as soon as they put them on that this is the good way to go?

00:14:21: Normally yes, because it's wider than other shoes.

00:14:27: as I showed the flexibility.

00:14:29: And this is the reason why you have to slip in.

00:14:32: And then, yeah, it's, yeah, you're co-rinced about that.

00:14:37: And especially people who are wearing barefoot shoes and they had no solution for, yeah, for wearing a safety shoe in the daily business.

00:14:49: And they were really attending on the shoe.

00:14:53: And there we found a solution.

00:14:57: We were talking about what A plus A is all about and this year especially is about innovation and also sustainability and also sustainability regarding our own health.

00:15:06: Your slogan is unbox your nature.

00:15:08: You've told us a lot about it already, but maybe you can delve a little bit deeper into it.

00:15:11: What exactly do you mean by that slogan and what exactly or how exactly did you come up with a slogan?

00:15:18: Yeah, unbox your nature means that you regarding the feed that you go back to the to the natural movement, because this is what keeps you healthy.

00:15:27: And this is the slogan that we put in our products, all the innovation we have in the products, especially this product, because it's the most natural shoe that we have.

00:15:39: And also Unboxed in Nature, also regarding internally, regarding our employees, because we at Barc, we think that we can create the best products if our employees can Expand their own potential.

00:15:55: so the to unbox their own.

00:15:56: nature the potential

00:15:58: and you have your own.

00:15:59: Slogan for the trade fair it is a nature prevails which actually is based on your slogan unbox your nature.

00:16:06: so it all fits together really well.

00:16:09: Innovation is such a popular.

00:16:11: a buzzword.

00:16:12: It's something that people are talking about all the time, which doesn't necessarily mean that it really is innovative what people are presenting.

00:16:18: What does true innovation mean to you?

00:16:21: True innovation for me and for Barg means to find solutions and in the manner of our philosophy to strengthen the well-being of the people wearing our products.

00:16:35: It's a wonderful philosophy and I think people are going to be very surprised when they see it.

00:16:41: I think a lot of people don't expect to be able to have this much comfort and have natural and healthy feet while they're working and they're still safe, which is amazing.
